Clomid consists of oral clomiphene citrate. Clomiphene citrate is not lo an anabolic steroid but a synthetic estrogen hormone that is used in bodybuilding to combat a number of hormonal imbalances caused by taking these . Clomid helps restore normal testosterone levels after treatment and prevents estrogen in the body from acting . It thus allows side effects to be avoided ; in particular gynecomastia .

Clomid is primarily a fertility drug that was created to stimulate ovulation in women who have difficulty getting pregnant. This molecule also has the property of stimulating endogenous testosterone production in men within the testes by increasing the secretion of the hormones LH and FSH. It is this last property that is of interest to bodybuilders because they experience some hormonal imbalances when using steroids, and especially when these steroids are strongly androgenic.

Many androgens, and especially stronger ones such as Oxymetholone, for example, have the unfortunate consequence of reducing natural testosterone production in the body during the steroid cycle. This is easily explained when we consider that the supply of external androgens makes it unnecessary for the body to produce testosterone because these androgens produce the same effect as testosterone.

The body then reacts by stopping the production of testosterone because it is no longer needed during the cycle. The problem is that after the cycle ends, the metabolism does not immediately restart this testosterone production that has become dangerously low. It is therefore urgent to stimulate it if you want to avoid a serious metabolic crash for catastrophic weight loss and strength. This is why bodybuilders use Clomid, which triggers endogenous testosterone production in the testes and thus prevents the crash.
